Workplace-Specific Hazard Training Certification Part II

OSSA provides two types of instructor-led, classroom-based Certification Part II training courses - Sector-specific Modules and Regional Hazard Modules - which provide sets of hazard training by grouping and combining common workplace hazards.

Sector-Specific Modules

This one-day course provides participants with hazard-specific training for significant hazards typical in the service sector.

 

Sector-Specific Modules provided are as follows:

Office & Related Services	Material Handling	Slips/Trips/ Falls	Ergonomic Hazards	Driving Hazards

Cost:  $299 per person, including materials, plus applicable taxes

Certification Part II Modules

OSSA Certification Part II modules meet the requirements for Workplace-Specific Hazard Training as set out by the WSIB (Certification Training Program Standards, May 1996).

 

OSSA Certification Part II modules include:

• Chemical Hazards
• Driving Hazards
• Equipment Hazards
• Ergonomic Hazards
• Extreme Temperatures
• Fire Hazards
• Hazards in the Live Performance Industry
• Lock Out & Tag Out Hazards
• Material Handling Hazards
• Respiratory and Body Fluids Hazard
• Slip, Trip & Fall Hazards
• Sharp Equipment Hazards
• Violence Hazards Training

 

Each of our Certification Part Two Hazard modules will assist users in learning to:

1. Describe the hazard and how it may cause injury or illness.
2. Identify the relevant legislation, standards and guidelines for the hazard.
3. Describe how to identify and assess the hazard.
4. Describe ways of controlling the hazard.
5. Prepare an action plan to identify, assess and control the hazard based on an actual workplace situation.

These modules will be used by health and safety professionals and managers including business owners, members of management teams, supervisors, certified members, health and safety coordinators, JHSC members and H&S Representatives, who are involved in recognition, assessment and control of chemicals and process hazards in the workplace.
