Canada's largest Health & Safety Conference has a new name!

Health & Safety Canada is now Partners in Prevention 2010

For several decades, Health & Safety Canada has brought experts in the field of health and safety under one roof at the annual conference. This year onwards as Partners in Prevention 2010 it gets even bigger and better as all of Ontario's prevention system partners come together to share knowledge that helps you do what you do best - run a safe and profitable business.

As a result of it's amalgamation with the Industrial Accident Prevention Association (IAPA) and the Farm Safety Association (FSA), OSSA is now an integral contributor to the conference. What this mean to you as a service sector firm is that the topics covered at the conference will also include issues that are relevant to service sector firms.

Here's what you will learn at some of the sessions:

  • The role of the Ministry of Labour in workplace safety and how it ties into its Safe At Work Ontario compliance strategy
  • An update on the WSIB's strategic plan to realize the shared vision of zero injuries and illnesses
  • Critical insights into the key issues and challenges of Bill 168 and how to be in compliance in your workplace
  • A few examples of how the Minstry of Labour views 'due diligence'
  • The importance of having a strategy to prevent musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs)
  • What you need to know when you employ young workers or temporary workers
  • How to recognize and evaluate fall hazards, the standards and guidelines that apply, and how to control the hazards
