This hazard module focuses on communicable diseases such as respiratory and body fluids.Many communicable diseases are caused by virus,bacteria, fungi and parasites. A variety of communicable diseases may be transmitted in the workplace. The "Health Protection and Promotion Act" has identified more than 50 communicable diseases. Some respiratory diseases that have been of concern lately are Influenza or Flu; Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS);Legionnaires disease and Hantavirus
After completing Certification Part I, Joint Health & Safety Committee members are required to go through Certification Part II Hazard Specific Training
These second editions Certification Part II products use basic health & safety concepts to help learners recognize, assess and control these hazards
